Based on the first 5 seasons.
Hey there people!
I’m graduating next week and that means I will be off into the real world. Sounds like fun, right? So I’m going to be trying to find some work now. In the meantime I now need to update the fact that I now have:
A) My domain name to myself.
B) My Digital Portfolio is up and has its own section.
C) I now have more time to make and release more work.
So keep an eye out for more work from me. I’m disappointed that I haven’t gotten to update in awhile but I just got very swamped with school and other things. Mostly school.
Coraline by Neil Gaiman
Illustrated by Phil Vazquez
So after 5 months it’s finally here! The “William H. Ely Exhibition”! My senior thesis is all done. I put so much time and love into this that I couldn’t be happier with the result. There’s so much I could say and talk about when it comes to all of these, but in the end I just have to say that it was fun to try and solve the execution of all these.
Gaiman’s work has been some of my favorite things to read in my life, and now some of my best work is based off his. I am extremely grateful for such amazing inspiration!
I now present my comic scene rendition of Neil Gaiman’s “Coraline” along with the full book jacket!
If you’re in the city of Philadelphia, come out to the University of the Arts and check out the show!
So the Ely’s are here. For those who don’t know, basically, at my school it’s the Illustration Majors thesis for senior year in a nut shell. Gonna have to do a series of pieces that all relate to a theme/body of work that you’re passionate about.
Gonna do a comic adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s “Coraline”! I’ve already started on character sketches, and I even messaged Neil Gaiman himself in a tumblr message telling him of my plans to which he told me to have a great time with it. Extremely short message but it gave me that extra drive. I’m feeling really awesome about this year already!
Had a few printing problems with this. Luckily in the end (and by the end I mean by the middle of our class’s section critiques) I was able to get a good print and got a good response. I’m feeling good.
So first off, sorry for the delay on the comic.
Secondly, as time goes on I’ve come to realize I’m always tired, my back hurts, and I never seem to want to go anywhere. I really do feel like an old man sometimes.
